Maritime Radio Classroom Course
Provides the Restricted Operators Certificate (Maritime) required to operate a marine radio.
Attend 26 Mar, 2 Apr and 9 Apr 2:30 to 4:30 PM
at Kingston Yacht Club.
Price $160 for a printed Maritime Radio manual, $140 for an e-pub manual sent to your email or $125 for a second family member sharing a manual.

Maritime Radio Self Study is on 24/7 on the Moodle interactive learning platform. Register at any time to access the course for 60 days to obtain your Restricted Operators Certificate (Maritime). In Rideau District, the course is offered by Ottawa or Brockville squadrons. Visit our national CanBoat website and select VHF/ROC(M) to register. Part 1 of the exam is done on line and Part 2 is arranged by contacting the instructor for a video meeting.
Basic Navigation and Boat Handling On Line is available 24/7 via the Moodle interactive learning platform. Squadron instructors arrange to meet students weekly on line. Prerequisite is the Pleasure Craft Operator Card available on line at www.canboat.ca. Formerly called Boating 2 and Boating 3, for Basic Navigation and Boat Handling is offered at other squadrons www.canboat.ca website.
Recreation Vessel Courtesy Checks are available at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, Collins Bay Marina, Treasure Island Marina and other locations near Kingston by appointment. Please contact kingstonsafeboating@gmail.com to arrange a visit to your boat to check the safety equipment required is on board.
